Building on from a successful 2018/19, Astro Gaming and Gears Esports have expanded their partnership with Astro becoming the Official Audio Partner of Gears Esports across the full 2019/20 season. The agreement will see Astro’s industry leading audio equipment being used across all four Gears Esports Majors, including the inaugural Gears World Championships, as well as across the Gears Unlimited and Gears Pro League Live content series.
“Astro has been a great partner across previous seasons of Gears Esports and we’re delighted to build on that for Gears 5. Now, as well as having Astro’s top class audio equipment and expertise at our events, we’ll also benefit from that across all of our content series,” said Dana Sissons, Director of Communications, The Coalition.
Every Gears 5 Esports Major LAN will feature the new Astro TR Main Stage Audio System on stage to help competitors block out distractions and communicate with their team. In addition to providing an improved audio experience, Astro will be adding more prizing and new opportunities for Pro and Amateur players.
The Astro Battles 2v2 League is an official 2v2 tournament series that will reward over $20,000 in prizing and seed players for the hugely popular 2v2 LAN events at every Gears Esports Major. The Astro Battles 2v2 League will kick off at the San Diego Major at the Town and Country Resort from December 6-8, 2019.
“We’re thrilled to continue our partnership with Microsoft, The Coalition and Gears of War. By offering the community a premium audio experience and creating exciting new ways to earn cash, aspiring athletes will be able to find new teammates and have a chance to make a career in Gears Esports,” said Cole Lovelady, Head of Global Esports.
